Job Description
Contributing Researchers will identify and collect contextual instantiations of selected Buddhist vocabulary items within a corpus of twenty Buddhist Sanskrit texts. They will locate occurrences and selected proximate contexts for Sanskrit words, as well as assisting in identifying English renderings in a parallel translation corpus. All texts will be provided by the Mangalam Research CenterĀ from a pre-defined corpus. Assistants may work off-site.
Compensation and Workload
Researchers will work as independent contractors at an hourly rate of $15 US. The minimum time commitment is 12 hours a week on the project. Candidates may be offered contracts of up to a year, after an initial trial period of 30 days.
Applicants should hold a B.A., be fluent in English and have sufficient reading knowledge of Sanskrit to match Sanskrit passages with selected published English translation identified in a BTW parallel corpus.
